PORT 463 - Topics in Luso-Brazilian Literature

Topics rotate. One of them is the exploration of different facets of music produced in Brazil from 1960’s to 2000. These discussions will consider the socio-political and economic contexts that underlined the changes in musical production, including issues related to race, gender, and sexuality. Our aim will be to able to detect the tense and conflicting ways that different trends attempt to intervene on and create new paradigms for both the music scene and the nation.
