The importance of studying online instructor/student relationships: A linguistic perspective
This workshop will outline how language in teacher/student interactions can have a genuine impact on the lives of students (Frymier, & Houser, 2000; Jackson & Knupsky, 2015, among others), but especially of online students (Dickinson, 2017) who rely heavily on email and other forms of linguistic communication.
Workshop Learning Objectives
- Identify the impact of language on teacher/student interactions.
- Identify the importance of teacher/student relationships inside and outside the classroom.
- Learn simple and helpful strategies for improving teacher/student interactions.
