La Chamba Workshop Series Presents

Money Trauma and Financial Wellness

When
6 to 7 p.m., March 12, 2024
10 to 11 a.m., March 14, 2024

Do you like to spend money, maybe a little too much? Or do you hoard your money? How do you know if the financial advice you inherited is beneficial?

We will be hosting a speaker panel in collaboration with the Thrive Center to talk about money trauma, how it manifests, what it is influenced by, and resources to go to for further, individualized in-depth financial wellness support (i.e. budgeting, taking out a credit card, etc...).

What kind of questions can you ask peer educators or staff at the Thrive Center regarding financial wellness? For example...

  • How do I apply for a credit card? How do I manage it?
  • What kind of loan is worth taking out for school? I want to start saving?
  • Can you help me create a budget?
  • I feel guilty not studying a major my parents think will make me a lot of money in the long run. How do I talk about these pressures?
