My Humanities education has been a catalyst for my career. On the technical side of my work, I use my linguistics and language knowledge I learned to do text analytics, an in-demand skillset. Additionally, as customer-centric solutions are critical for building and maintaining market leadership, I leverage the qualitative analysis and humanities-specific critical thinking skills I learned to create customer-centered analytics solutions. Specifically, I use Design Thinking, an innovation methodology that places qualitative analysis and empathy at the core of identifying problems and creating solutions - a great fit for Humanities skills. I also apply these Humanities skills to data storytelling: translating analytic results into compelling and actionable insight, which is critical to the success of any analytics project. I loved being a Spanish & Portuguese major and am excited about applying more of my education to future work.
