Kenneth Goodman

My initial goal was to teach Spanish literature at the college level, but when I had enough credits for a master's degree, I felt like I needed some more experience living in Latin America. I prepared a thesis and received an M.A. in Spanish Literature. After a year of training in Washington D.C. we were sent to Caracas, Venezuela, with the Department of State. We liked it so well we never left the foreign service. That led to many memorable experiences overseas. Although I ended up not pursuing a teaching career, the education I received in Spanish literature and culture, and the writing required in both languages, served my professional needs well.
