I work primarily in providing classes, workshops and coaching for international scholars who want to publish and present in English. I never expected to have a job like this after getting a Ph.D. in Spanish, but I can't imagine a more exciting and inspiring workplace. I am surrounded by highly-motivated, dedicated scholars who want my help to communicate their research to the global academic community. It's a fantastic environment. I was able to get this job because of my background in writing, editing, publishing and presenting during graduate school. I am grateful for the collaborative spirit in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. It taught me to work with other researchers in order to lift each other up rather than cut each other down.
