As Product Manager for our computer-based training programs, I represent my company throughout the world, and especially in Latin America. My best languages are Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. I use my language skills on a daily basis to communicate with clients, via phone and email, in order to perform remote installations of our software and provide technical support and training in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I also travel extensively for installation and training purposes. Countries I have visited on business include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Mexico, Spain, Armenia, and Liberia. I have found that adding a technical skill set to a language degree can provide you with more opportunities and earning potential than a language degree by itself. The same could be said for additional education or training in the legal, medical, and sales areas.
