This past summer, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese launched their inaugural Study Abroad trip to Salvador, Brazil!
After 7 weeks in Salvador, Bahia, our students returned with countless stories to tell. From savoring new culinary delights to immersing themselves in local traditions, they explored the vibrant culture, embraced the rhythms of the city, and sharpened their Portuguese along the way.
The University of Arizona Portuguese Flagship Program is housed in the College of Humanities' renowned Department of Spanish and Portuguese and is one of only two Portuguese Flagship Programs in the U.S. The program provides a dynamic undergraduate program for students aiming to attain professional-level proficiency in Portuguese while pursuing any major of their choice. Completion of the program includes an exciting Capstone year in Brazil.
