I am working for the International Rescue Committee in Tucson, Arizona as their Asylum-Seeking Families Caseworker. IRC is a global humanitarian nonprofit that focuses on aiding refugees in their resettlement and integration into the United States. As the ASF Caseworker, I provide support to families coming through Arizona's Southern Border by connecting them to local resources and ensuring they have legal representation in court. Majoring in Spanish and Portuguese at the UA not only prepared me with the language skills necessary to communicate with my clients, but it also taught me how to approach cultural barriers and other challenges with an open mind. Go Humanities & Go Cats!
