My M.A. in Spanish, which I started at night while teaching bilingual social studies in the Sunnyside Unified School District, had a profound impact of my career as a Spanish professor and higher education leader. As with my studies at Northern Arizona University and Cornell University, my University of Arizona humanities professors had a profound impact on my life.
