12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (and by
appointment)
I am a Master's Student in Hispanic Linguistics and a Graduate Assistant in Teaching for the Spanish and Portuguese Department. I hold two BA degrees, one in Hispanic Linguistics and Literature from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and the other in Pedagogy from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). During my undergraduate studies I completed an academic exchange at Universidad del País Vasco (UPV). The UPV is known for developing research on bilingualism and the variation of non-standard Spanish that allowed me to approach this area. After graduation, I worked as a Teacher Assistant at UNAM-Chicago.
As a result of this approach to the study of bilingualism, I am interested in morphosyntax, Spanish as a heritage language, and critical pedagogy.
