Anderson Barbosa is a PhD student under Spanish and Portuguese. He holds his undergraduate degree in Portuguese and English from the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (2016) and his master's degree in Portuguese from the University of New Mexico (2025). 

Andy (as he goes by) is interested in different forms of agency against oppression in Latin America. In his PhD, he is investigating the relationships between race and urban spaces with a focus on the Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Colombian experiences.

When not in class, you can find him at the swimming pool, music stores, or traveling around the world with friends.
