Hi! I'm Dafne Parra, a first-year PhD student in Spanish. My previous research has focused on fantasy literature from the last century and its connections to gender and cultural studies. I have been a university professor for seven years, teaching writing, argumentation, and communication. I truly love my job and enjoy guiding my students to develop their critical thinking and expressive skills.
I'm from Sonora, México, a beautiful desert where the mountains meet the sea. I'm proud of my background, as it inspires both my teaching and my research. Outside of academia, I enjoy exploring natural sites, tending my garden, spending time with my pets, and discovering new flavors. I'm passionate about literature, videogames, and series; anything with a good story to tell.
