Dayani Castrejón is an incoming graduate student from Chicago, Illinois. Obtaining a bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of lowa, her true passion fell within her Latinx Studies minor. With her master's degree, she hopes to intertwine research on the U.S./Mexico Border and transnational identities with a Juris Doctor, advocating for marginalized communities as an immigration lawyer someday. At home, her golden retriever and black cat cheer her on from the sidelines, always waiting to curl up with her and a good book. Besides adjusting to the Arizona heat, she enjoys watching any new movie at the cinema, being active, and cooking new recipes at home.
