Jennifer Preciado Pérez is a first-year Ph.D. student in Hispanic Linguistics and a Graduate Teaching Associate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona. Originally from Ibagué, Colombia, she holds a B.A. in English Language Teaching from the Universidad del Tolima and an M.A. in Spanish from Northern Arizona University. Her teaching experience spans different educational contexts, from primary education to university-level Spanish and English courses.
Her research interests include second language acquisition and pedagogy, written corrective feedback, AI-mediated language learning, and sociolinguistics. She is particularly interested in how technology and AI can support language teaching while keeping teachers, and not the robots, in charge.
Outside academia, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, running, going to the gym, trying to keep her plants alive, and, more recently, cooking (an experiment that has so far produced mostly edible results)."
