Maria Camila Sanjuan Chamorro is an instructor and graduate student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona, pursuing a Master’s degree in Bilingual Journalism. She is passionate about storytelling, cross-cultural communication, and the power of media to shape social awareness. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia, where she also completed a diploma in Public Contracting.
Maria Camila’s research focuses on the representation of Latine communities in mainstream media and the ways bilingual journalism can foster more inclusive narratives. Her academic interests include digital and social media content, television journalism, and media discourse analysis.
Outside of her academic work, Maria Camila enjoys writing, exploring new cultures, and engaging in cultural exchange experiences in the U.S. She combines her legal background and journalistic training to bring a unique, analytical perspective to her work as a bilingual communicator.
