He is a first-year Ph.D. student in Spanish Literature at the University of Arizona. He completed his Master’s degree in Spanish at California State University, Fresno, where he worked as a Teacher Associate and taught elementary Spanish courses. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California, Merced. His research interests focus on Latin American literature, particularly literary representations of dictatorships.

 

He was raised in Hidalgo, Mexico, and comes from a family of farmers, a background he is very proud of. Outside of academia, he enjoys playing soccer and watching boxing. He also enjoys writing and discussing politics.
