Brillana Temaat is a PhD student in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching interdisciplinary program at the University of Arizona. She has a A.M. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Puerto Rico - Río Piedras. Her research interests focus on how langauge disabilities both differ and overlap with second language acquisition and how the communication strategies of code-switching, prosody, and music can act as scaffolds to language learning.
