Instructor

Yenei C. Viera is from Cuba. She brings a rich background in education and cultural promotion since serving her community supporting emerging artists. In addition to her academic work, she worked as an editor for Teleclases. Also, as a scriptwriter for television series such as Cuando una Mujer, broadcast nationally and internationally via Cubavision International. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Socio-Cultural Studies from the University of Havana.

She has lived in Tucson, Arizona, for nine years and earned her M.A. in Hispanic Culture and Literature from the University of Arizona in 2021.Currently, with over 24 years of experience teaching Spanish in different teaching levels, Yenei C. Viera is also a published author in both Cuba and the United States. Her creative work explores themes of identity, resilience, and marginalization. Her philosophy centers on integrating culture into language learning. Her academic interests include Spanish language, immigration studies, food's cultural studies, health humanities, and social media in shaping cultural narratives.
